Is G-d Trying to Get Our Attention With COVID-19?
I believe He is, BUT we have no clear evidence what it is He is telling us. There is a limitless amount of human failings and rebellions to choose from. What is the cause of this particular virus at this particular time? Who can say? Christians have been around and seeking world dominion since the third century when Constantine invented the religion by merging the Pagan religions of the Roman Empire with a failed Jewish sect known as the Nicolaitanes (Revelation 2:6,9 and 3:9). Catholicism and the vast majority of her daughter's denominations share this desire to convert the world. The Missionary threat is not new. |

Islam has been seeking world domination since the 7th century or so when Muhammad copied Constantine's idea and plagiarized Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, and other belief systems to achieve a desired global caliphate. Again, political and religious Jihad is not a new concept.
It has been legal for women to murder their own children in the US since 1973. More human beings have been murdered by their own mothers than were killed in all wars combined. Still, infanticide is not something new, although so many mothers murdering their children with the aid of doctors, a clear violation of the Hippocratic Oath, is comparatively recent.
Inspired by Genghis Khan (1162-1227), China has been working for global conquest since the days of Chairman Mao enslaving and murdering millions, including millions of children by government mandate. Again, dictatorships, whether Socialists are other barbarian systems, are not something new.
Some misguided Jews have been anti-Zionists since the First Zionist Congress in the 1800s and the majority of us are not religious, especially since the Shoah. The secular government of Israel is far away from achieving the Promised Theocracy of David HaMelech. This is also true.
The list of human failings and evils is endless... So, what changed since November of last year when the Chinese Communist Party released the Wuhan virus (intentionally or unintentionally), or since the first case in Israel, in the EU, in North America, etc? Who can say? Things are always changing.
So, what might HaShem be telling us?
PERHAPS that we ALL need to get our acts together or He WILL send the one crueler than Haman (see my http://learnemunah.com/mashiach/twomessiahs.html) upon us all! G-d knows we deserve it! Or, maybe it is not His desire to send him yet. MAYBE, since we were all created with free will (see my http://learnemunah.com/being/yetzer.html) HaShem allowed some scientists to create the virus for whatever reason they decided to, and then, (intentionally or unintentionally) to release it onto our sinful planet. While the origin is still being researched, we now know human error or choice was clearly the catalyst. Many governments, including the US, have used such methods. Again, this is not something new to the human experience. Governments do such things.
Surely what matters is that I (that you, that everyone individually) make a decision: Will we continue to rebel against our Creator, or will we finally bend the knee to the King of Kings? Will we continue to hate our brothers and sisters, to abuse this precious gift of life or will we choose LIFE? Will we choose to do acts of Tikun Olam? The Torah is clear:
"Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life so that you and your descendants might live!" Deuteronomy 30:19
In the short term, I am not too optimistic about this shared decision we all make each and every day. In the long run, however, even IF WE CHOOSE to walk the path of the War of Magog, I know that we will survive as a species and that we will one day find Freedom, Life, and Love through Mashiach ben David. Why? Certainly not because we deserve it, but because of G-d's Love for and Promises to the Jewish people. This is why He has not allowed humanity to destroy itself as we keep trying to do.
And I will approach you for judgment, and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely; and also against those who withhold the wages of the day laborers, of the widow and fatherless, and those who pervert [the rights of] the stranger, [and those who] fear Me not, says the Lord of Hosts.
For I, the Lord, have not changed; and you, the sons of Jacob, have not reached the end -- Malachi 3:6).
